November 13: Mooney Shuts Down
Two weeks before Thanksgiving, Kerrville, Texas-based Mooney Aircraft has reportedly shut down and released its entire staff, the Kerrville Daily Times is reporting. The Times reported and we can confirm that Mooney’s voicemail system states that “At this time, all Mooney employees have been furloughed and therefore we cannot take your call.” We have been unable to reach any of Mooney’s staff or management, and we understand that the firm’s workforce was down to just 50 preceding the furlough. More Flight Bans
Because aircraft and engines are becoming increasingly complex, repairing damage to them is becoming increasingly expensive.
Although the number of fatal incidents has decreased, material damage has increased. At 57%, more than half of the damage costs are attributable to crashes, ground collisions, bird strikes or overshooting of the runway.  https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jan/02/plane-crash-deaths-jump-sharply-in-2018-but-fatalities-still-rare

The U.S. stops flights to all Cuban cities except Havana
American carriers offered direct flights from various U.S. cities to nine destinations including Santa Clara, Santiago, and Holguin, etc. An order issued by the Transportation Department gave them 45 days to cease those operations. American, Delta, and JetBlue are among the airlines offering flight to locations in Cuba. Now only flights to Havana are permitted - same for cruise ships.
