Aviation News January 2021

Farewell to Passenger's Favorites

Air Transat's new fleet policy also means that fans will have to say goodbye to some of their favorite aircraft sooner than expected. The number of Boeing 747s or Airbus A380s that will be seen in the skies or at airports after the crisis is likely to be reduced sooner than expected. KLM and Corsair, for example, retired their last Boeing 747s a year earlier than planned.

Air Transat said goodbye to its Airbus A310 earlier and there are likely to be far fewer Airbus A340s in fleets around the world soon.

New Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

For many years, thousands of aviation students flogged to the USA to get their commercial pilot licenses - until September 11... They were then banned from taking up training in the United States with only a handful of exemptions.  Arabian students then tried to get their licenses in Europe, Canada, or other countries.

Now it is the Other Way Around:
International students are invited to train in Arabian countries!  Several flight training academies offer structured programs under the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia taking students from zero to airline pilots.  The courses are designed to support students who speak English as a second language and wish to pursue a career as a professional pilot.  Fight school students have unlimited access to English tutoring to develop Aviation English skills during Ground School training.

The circa cost for the complete commercial/IFR pilot training is less than 15K Canadian/11K US dollar for locals.  Practical Flight Training at OxfordSaudia Flight Training is on the latest Diamond DA40 and DA42, equipped with professional IFR cockpit instruments.

Students will be trained using different types of advanced new simulators and safety devices by integrating the best and most advanced teaching technologies.
